Now Ismail Haniyeh Too…!

Ismail Haniyeh had a desire to meet Allah, and his wish was that Allah grant him a martyr’s death. The day began in Tehran on July 31; it was already two o’clock in the night and the time for Tahajjud prayers when Ismail Haniyeh was attacked with deadly force. Now he stands before his Allah for that meeting. Three and a half months ago, on Eid al-Fitr, his three sons, three granddaughters, and one grandson were martyred in a targeted Israeli attack in Gaza. Immediately, Ismail Haniyeh received two honors: he became the father of martyrs and the grandfather of martyrs. Even before this incident, more than 60 of his close relatives had been martyred. Now that he himself has been martyred, his daughter-in-law’s inspiring words are resonating worldwide. This daughter-in-law, named “Einas Haniyeh,” is a widow of a martyr and the mother of two martyr daughters. The Arabic words spoken were heard, then researched, and the Arabic text was obtained. The translation into Urdu is as follows:

“We are content with our hearts and satisfied with Allah’s will and destiny. I express condolences for a person who filled the heavens and the earth with the fragrance of his (free Palestine) ideology. He is a person who does not need praise. I express my condolences for my dear uncle, who was very dear to me. He was my father. He was the crown of my head. He was the coolness of my eyes. Now he will meet with those martyrs who were truthful and blessed. He will meet with his martyr sons. He will meet with his pure blood of martyrdom. He was a leader who carried the banner of martyrdom. He was a great and brave leader. ‘We will say what pleases our Lord’ (this is a phrase used by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ upon the death of his son Ibrahim ﷺ, and we say it in the same spirit). Tears flow from our eyes. O Abu al-Abd (Ismail Haniyeh), our hearts are saddened by your separation. May our Lord reward us for our distress and grant us better conditions. The pain is great, but there is solace in the fact that this world is but a fleeting play; thus, we will meet in Paradise, insha’Allah. That Paradise which is wider than all the heavens and the earth. We bid farewell to our leader of the Palestinians. We bid farewell to the leader of the Ummah.”

A few days ago, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the U.S. Congress. During his speech, he said that we are dealing with people who love death. Who would have thought that the very people Netanyahu referred to would be the cause of his words a few days later? The world had already protested that a person who had been declared a war criminal by the International Criminal Court was going to speak before the U.S. Congress instead of being arrested. Many conscientious Americans also protested this.

The way Ismail Haniyeh was martyred in Tehran is state terrorism. It now seems that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was also removed by the Zionists, as Sunnis and Shias were together on the path to free Jerusalem. Ibrahim Raisi and Ismail Haniyeh were on the same path. The Muslims were coming together, which Netanyahu did not want. Thus, during the inauguration of Iran’s new president, Masoud Pezeshkian, Ismail Haniyeh was given full assurance that they would continue together in the movement for free Jerusalem, even more so than before. This was Ismail Haniyeh’s crime. Now the Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced that relations with the people of Palestine will be further strengthened after Ismail Haniyeh’s martyrdom.

People, consider this: Netanyahu made a statement about Ismail Haniyeh’s martyrdom saying that Israel had no connection to this incident, but shortly afterward, Israel’s Minister of Culture, Amihai Eliyahu, from the extremist Otzma Yehudi party, declared that this was the right way to purify the world, referring to the way taken against Ismail Haniyeh.

Consider how harsh this statement is. Even a stone-hearted person cannot make such a statement about someone’s death. The grieving family of the deceased is left to suffer. The deceased has a widow, grieving daughters, sons, and daughters-in-law. There are grandchildren and granddaughters. Brothers and sisters, and millions who loved Ismail Haniyeh. What are these attacks if not daggers to the hearts of millions? That is why Allah had already informed us in Surah Al-Baqarah about their hardness of heart, saying that their hearts are like stones, even harder, as some stones burst out of fear of Allah and flow with springs. These rivers and streams are the tears of the hard rocks flowing on the earth.

After the Qur’an, the books of Hadith, including Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, are considered the most authentic. A hadith from Sahih Muslim says that the ruler of the state of Madinah, our Prophet ﷺ, who came as a mercy to the worlds, was present in a market when a Jewish funeral passed by. He stood up, and the Companions also stood. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! This is a Jewish funeral. The Prophet ﷺ replied: Is it not a human soul? The Prophet ﷺ was expressing sympathy and condolences for the bonds of human life. He said, “Death is a thing that creates anxiety.” Indeed! The hearts of the bereaved are saddened. Expressing sympathy with them and reducing their sorrow and anxiety is a requirement of humanity. This requirement has been taught by the Prophet ﷺ. People, remember that if these requirements cease, the world will become a jungle of unrest. We must make it a haven of peace, not a jungle of terrorism and intolerance, filled with the stench of cruelty and brutality. Some scholars say that standing for a non-Muslim out of respect has been abrogated. Even if this is accepted, sympathy and condolences have not been abrogated. The eternal fragrance of the Prophet’s ﷺ noble character still continues today and will continue until the Day of Judgment.

I listened to Ismail Haniyeh’s interview. He mentioned that his father used to call the adhan in the mosque. When he was six years old, his father would take him to the mosque for the Fajr prayer. Since then, he has been performing the Fajr prayer in congregation. At the age of seventeen, when Ismail Haniyeh became a Hafiz of the Quran, he was also pursuing modern education along with religious studies. During this time, he also began delivering Friday sermons. He mentioned that from childhood, he used to listen to the sermons of the martyr Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. His clothes were dusty, but he was dedicated to the mission of inviting people to faith and paving the way for the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In the Battle of Mu’tah, when Hazrat Zaid bin Harithah was martyred, Hazrat Ja’far Tayyar took up the banner of the army. When he was martyred, Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawaha took up the flag. When he was martyred, Hazrat Khalid bin Walid began leading the army. This caravan of leadership had never stopped and will not stop in the future, insha’Allah!
